What is Trimba?

Trimba is a URL shortener that transforms long web addresses into short links, making them easier to share. When someone clicks a short link, they are redirected to the original URL using a 301 (permanent) redirect.

What's the point?

Platforms like X and Instagram have character limits - short links keep posts clean and readable. They also make printed materials and QR codes smaller and easier to use.

How does Trimba work?

Trimba converts long URLs into short ones like tri.mba/abcd. The random suffix ensures uniqueness. When a user visits that short link, Trimba looks it up in the database and redirects them to the original URL.

How do I use it?

Paste your long URL into the box above. Trimba will instantly provide a short URL. If you don’t like it, paste again for a new one. When you click Copy the URL is activated and saved in our database.

Do I need an account?

No. In the future, we may introduce accounts for link management, analytics, and expiry options.

How long do links last?

We aim for shortened URLs to remain active indefinitely. Unused links are deactivated automatically after 100 days. Any shortened URLs may be deactivated without notice.

Prohibited use

Links that lead to or involve any of the following will be deactivated without notice:

• Executable or compressed files (.exe, .zip, etc.)
• Video or audio content (.mp4, .mp3, etc.)
• Pornography, hate speech, or extremist material
• Child exploitation, violence, or graphic imagery
• Phishing, malware, or other security threats
• Spam, scams, or deceptive financial schemes
• Impersonation, doxxing, or harassment
• Any content violating laws or promoting unsafe activity

Reporting links

If you find a Trimba link that violates our Terms of Use, please report it using the “Report Link” button on the redirect page. We will investigate it and deactivate it if we deem that it contravenes our Terms of Use.

Data collected for each shortened URL

• Original and shortened URLs
• Creation timestamps
• Redirect count
• A timestamp of the most recent redirect
• IP address (to prevent abuse)
